    License To Kill is one of my two favorite Bond movies (the other being Dr. No). Dalton absolutely nails the character, and the script is great. Robert Davi is great as Bond's equal but opposite, and the supporting cast is great. I don't see any issues with cinematography or style in general as it looked absolutely fantastic in 1989. For the time, it was great. A more visually spectacular photographic style would detract and DIStract from the story. It wouldn't be appropriate. Bottom line? License To Kill is a GREAT Bond movie.

    unfortunately, Walther is only a shadow of what it use to be. They ruined the design of the PPK with that large beaver tail ,and the others lack the innovation of guns such as the P5, Walther 2000, TPX etc. The new guns are very large/bulky and no style....sooo sad :(

    Bond desperately needs to ditch the Walther PPK. Even though its part of the image it really needs to go, they need to be brave like in the Brosnan era and update his arsenal, a PPS M2 or similar is the way forward, Even bond himself gives the audience a wink that the ppk is trash in a modern gunfight when he throws the PPK down on the digger in skyfall. there's also a reason he ends up with a Sig 226 in almost every Craig film. change is needed.

    I know that the association of Walther with James Bond is something of a sacrosanct pairing- but to date-my favorite hand gun that Bond has repeatedly used is the Sig Sauer P226. The P226 is arguably just as iconic on it’s own right as Bond’s PPK and the P226 is functionally superior in every category with exception to ease of concealment. With that said-the PPK is a novelty gun on my to-own list! For carry options from Walther used by Bond-Bond’s Walther P99 is arguably the better choice over the PPK. Ps. Bond as general rule would likely follow a “gray-man” style of approach to carrying a gun. The swag items are certainly neat and functional-but you generally won't find many people in the CCW community using them because they fit a stereotype profile of someone who likely carries a firearm.

    • @BATTLEZONEwzw
      @BATTLEZONEwzw 23 години тому

      Couldn't agree more, they should have followed carte blanche and updated it to a PPS.

    • @bellerophon9116
      @bellerophon9116 17 годин тому

      @@BATTLEZONEwzw I agree-the PPS would certainly have been one of the logical choices. Given the .380 chambering of the PPK-and the modern loads available-it still remains a relevant piece-but only in fairly limited circumstances. I couldn't imagine being in the middle of a full on shootout armed with only a PPK and a couple of 7-shot magazines. It's fine for movies… 🤷‍♂️ One significant drawback for many shooters is the grip size and slide bite problems depending on your grip and hand size. It makes it a difficult gun to draw quickly and accurately at speed as you attempt to establish your master grip just before drawing. Of course-for a number of people this shortcoming can be worked around-but overall-it’s a gun of it’s time that has all but ran it's course in terms of modern relevance. As I said previously-the PPK is on my list for a mostly useable novelty gun/deep concealment firearm-but it would certainly never be an only carry EDC choice.

    The Producer's shouldn't of allowed Daniel Graig to have Bond killed off. It would of been better to have his Bond , just drive away into the sunset with his woman and their daughter to reconnect and enjoy his family. The killing Bond off in a explosion, was a bad move. You don't kill off the Pivotal, major , important character James Bond, Period! Then bring him back from the dead in the next film. That's Bonker's! You may lose a major part of your audience with that decision and damage the franchise !😮

    Goldfinger is the GOAT of all Bond films. You can throw out all the super-campy Roger Moore films with the cartoon character Jaxs, terrible, silly flicks. The other Bonds Brosnan etc. lost the male fantasy aspects and humour Connery brought. The movies after Connery became to psychologically too serious. However, I do like the new Casino Real, great Bond origin story. Also, I am probably one of the few who really likes On Her Majesties Secret Service mainly due to perfoqmances by Diana Rigg and Telly Savalis and the knockout ending scene. I also include Thunderball and You Only Live Twice as favorites. Both with great theme songs.

    Re: the glass Bond's martini is served - The Martini glass is specifically designed for the consumption of that particular cocktail. The long stem prevents the liquid from being warmed by the hand holding it. The large bowl increases the surface area of the drink exposed to the air, allowing the aromatics to be sensed by the nose. Lastly, the wide rim ensures liquid touches more of your lips and tongue so it doesn't go straight to the back of your mouth. So, no, you shouldn't drink it from a rocks glass

    I understand so many fans being disappointed about the end of No Time to Die in that James Bond diesk and this causes concern over any continuing adventures. What I think may be overlooked is the fact that James Bond has retired from active service. He would never be coming back to any new adventures with MI6. It was just a one-off that he happened to be called back for one more go around with Blofeld, only because of his past history. Any new films (if indeed there are anymore in our lifetime) will logically, and necessarily have taken place well before the events of No Time to Die. Talk I hear of an alternate timeline is completely unnecessary.
